As a part of BharatVani Hindi Teachers' ongoing effort to provide innovative materials for learning Hindi at subsidized price, our two most popular multi-media Hindi learning programs "BharatVani HindiTeacher on CD-ROM" and "Learning Hindi Thru Hindi Songs" have been integrated into one program as "BharatVani Hindi Teacher Plus" and is offered for your individual and non-commercial use at a nominal cost of $19.95 plus $4 s&h to any country of your choice.

Objective of this CD-ROM is to help Indians who speak other regional languages or have lost contact with their national language after leaving their country - to properly comprehend Hindi. These programs are also designed to help non-Indians to converse with their friends in social gatherings or during their travel to India.

This CD-ROM has been designed to support and supplement our Online Hindi Teaching program started in 1996 and new materials have been included which will be useful for intermediate and advanced learners too.

About Hindi Teacher Plus CD-ROM

Unlike BharatVani Online Hindi Teacher, where a live teacher guides students throughout their learning process, "BharatVani Hindi Teacher Plus" is a comprehensive computer based self-tutor where students or their parents decide when and how to use or derive best learning advantage from the materials included. The lessons have been divided in six groups. For example, if you are a new young student and wish to learn Hindi reading, writing and speaking you may start with 17 lessons in the group one. But if you are a new grown up student and wish to learn Hindi to be able to converse in Hindi, you may start with the 26 lessons in the group two and then move to other section. Those who already know Hindi can start with lessons under group 4 to learn typing in Hindi or use our transliteration package. Intermediate and advanced learners may use 12 Advanced Comprehension lessons or 63 Hindi movie songs and video clips. There are enough learning materials for everybody - from six year old children to university level students. This is one software you should never lose or give away!

Learning Hindi Thru Hindi Songs - 21 Hindi songs and dance video clips have been added in the Plus edition to provide innovative materials for learning conversational Hindi. Using recent advancement in video compression technology we have now included three formats of some 21 popular video song clips to help you learn better, faster, smarter and while enjoying some very interesting video clips. You can't use this CD-ROM on audio CD players or DVD players. Also remember:

This edition of CD-ROM contains some 21 song/dance video clips which were previously sold separetly. Each clip has three versions:

Devanagari version - A full text of song in Devanagari has been given. Students who have learnt to read and write Hindi in Devanagari script will find this version valuable in comparing their comprehension of the songs with the written text. It will also be useful for sing-along and Karoke purposes. To obtain best result learners should print out the song.
Roman transliteration of songs - This version is provided for students who want to learn conversational Hindi without learning to read and write Devanagari script. Full Roman transliteration (based on BharatVani Transliteration System) has been provided as Roman/Hindi subtitles for this version.
English translation of songs - This version has been included so that learners can compare their understanding of Hindi lyrics with the English translation. Here again the translation will appear as subtitles for each line of Hindi lyrics.

Best learning will be produced if you use at least two versions of the songs, repeatedly. You can stop video at any point, go back a few second to hear a particular section of lyrics again to compare with your notes.

Although quality of these highly compressed videos may deteriorate, but if you like you can see them on full computer screen (just right click on the video image and select to zoom to full screen). The quality of subtitles will be better on a larger screen. The quality of video and audio will depend on your computer resources. For better comprehension of audio, using good quality ear/head phones is a good idea.
