Half Characters and Conjuncts

By attaching keyboard templates (supplied free with this CD ROM), you can easily type many half characters and conjuncts in Microsoft Word. To help you easily memorize these keystrokes, we have used 'Ctrl' key for 'Half Characters' and 'Alt' key for other special characters. This table shows frequently used half characters and conjuncts. A carat symbol ^ before a character requires you to press 'Ctrl' key before pressing the lower or upper case English character indicated. A tilde ~ symbol before a character means you must press 'Alt' key before pressing the lower or upper case English character indicated.

When working in other Windows-based programs, such as graphics, email, or web-page creators like FrontPage editors, these special characters can be typed by pressing 'Alt'  key before typing their four character numbers on the numerical key pad which is located on the right side of your keyboard.
